Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x, Dialup modem configuration:
Open Internet Explorer
From the Tools menu choose Internet Options
From the Internet Explorer Properties box, select Connections
Highlight the appropriate account under Dial-up settings then click on Settings
Remove the URL from the Address field and uncheck the box next to Use Automatic
Configuration Script
Click OK
Close your browser
Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x, DSL/Cable modem configuration:
Open Internet Explorer
From the Tools menu choose Internet Options
From the Internet Explorer Properties box, select Connections, then LAN Settings
Remove the URL from the Address field and uncheck the box next to Use Automatic
Configuration Script
Click OK
Close your browser to save the settings
Internet Explorer 4.x:
Open Internet Explorer
From the Views menu choose Internet Options
From the Internet Options Properties box, select Connections, then click the
Configure button in the Automatic Configuration pane
Remove the URL from the Address field
Click OK
Close your browser to save the settings
Netscape 4.x and 6.2+ or Mozilla:
Open Netscape
From the Edit menu choose Preferences
From the Preferences box, choose Advanced > Proxies > Automatic Proxy
Configuration
Remove the URL from the Configuration Location (URL) field
Click the button next to Direct connection to the Internet
Click OK
Close your browser to save the settings
