Trouble logging in with UW NetID?
Please do not create a new account.
UW users occasionally have problems logging into Interlibrary Loan with their UW NetID.
Most often this occurs after accessing a Libraries' database using the Off-Campus Access proxy server.
If you click the UW NetID link from our home page but get a blue and gray screen that says "Interlibrary Loan Login Screen" rather than the blue and white "UW NetID Weblogin" page, then you are experiencing this problem. The general Login Screen will not recognize your UW NetID.
Here are some strategies that may solve the problem:
- Try deleting the temporary internet files that have been retained by your browser.
- In Internet Explorer: Choose Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files
Click the Delete Files button and click OK
- In Mozilla Firefox: Choose Tools > Options > Privacy
Click the Clear button next to Cache
- Completely exit all browser windows you have open
- Restart your browser
- See if the problem has been resolved
- Check the date and time settings on your computer.
- Dates prior to 2000 or off in the future can cause problems. Use Windows' "Date/Time" control panel applet to make sure your clock is set to the correct date, time, time zone, and daylight savings status. You can use the UW Home Page or the time.gov website to determine the current local time.
- Point your browser directly at Interlibrary Loan.
These steps have been known to help in some cases. Unfortunately, they don't always work and it isn't understood why.
