Scanning and Printing

Scanning

There is a self-service scanner in the downstairs of the Music Library (Room 15, Music Building). You may save scanned materials to a USB drive, email them, or send the items to the printer in the Music Library.  If you are a visitor, please see Music Library staff for assistance with emailing materials.

A book lift connects the ground floor portion of the Library to the first floor. Please use it to transport library materials for scanning. We ask that you please return items to the lift after scanning (we will take them off and reshelve them).

Printing From A Computer

You may print from any networked public PC or from your laptop when connected to the UW wireless network.
TO PRINT Click on File, then Print, a pop-up window will ask you to:

  • Choose the location where you wish to pick up you print job
  • Enter your name and your printout name (can be anything)
  • Go to your chosen location to pick up your printout.

Laptop users may find information on downloading a driver here: Dawg-Prints. Click on your location on the map to download the driver.

The default print location is here in the Music Library with printers available both in room 113 (main room) and room 19 (listening lab). Printouts are 12 cents per page. Duplex printing (Music Library-Duplex) will print to both sides of the paper; the price is 11.5 cents per side. Dawg-Prints cards are sold in a $5.00 denomination at our location and the machine accepts $1 and $5 bills.
