Edited Works has been converted to a searchable database that will display diacritics. Anyone using Windows XP should have a font called Arial Unicode MS that will allow the diacritics to display. Others will need to download a free font, Gentium, as described on the search screen.
Data will be continue to be added. Conversion from our source documents does result in some corruption of the data. Before we finish proofreading, you may see errors in recently added data. Search results display alphabetically by the first word in the title, excluding the articles a, an and the. Initial articles appear at the beginning of the title even when they are not included in filing.
Edited Works was previously produced in PDF format, in a way which allowed diacritics to display. However, searching the PDF files was awkward. Recognizing that all potential users may not have the same computing capabilities, the PDF files will remain available. The Acrobat PDF viewer is available without charge from http://www.adobe.com/
To search the PDF version, enter a file. Then click on the "binoculars" button in the Acrobat Reader toolbar. A query box will pop up. Type the word(s) you wish to search in the box entitled "Find what" and click on the "Find" button. The result will be highlighted. Repeat the process as desired.
