Northwest Archivists

At-Large Student Scholarship

Intent
This annual $300 scholarship is established to encourage college-level students to develop their interest in archives administration as a career choice, through such means as research projects, unpaid internships and attendance at related conferences, seminars, workshops, institutes or other educational opportunities.

Guidelines
Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time with an accredited higher education institution in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana. They must be graduate students or undergraduates having completed a minimum of 160 quarter-system credit hours, or 110 semester-system credit hours. Students already admitted to the Graduate Program in Archives Administration and Records Management at Western Washington University are ineligible. The scholarship must be used to allay direct costs; it may not be used to purchase supplies or equipment.

Recipients are not required, but encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting for a formal award presentation.

Selection
Current members of the Northwest Archivists Scholarships Committee will review applications and select an annual recipient. The application postmark deadline is March 1 and all applicants will be notified by early April. The scholarship may be used any time throughout the subsequent calendar year.
