Odegaard Undergraduate Library and Commons welcomes students, faculty, staff and visitors with disabilities. Our goal is to make all library resources accessible to all of our users. Please let us know how we can best assist you.

Getting Around

Study Spaces

All study spaces are available for disabled student use. Two adaptive technology workstations are available near the laptop alcove in the Odegaard Computing Commons on the second floor. Please inquire at the Reference/Help Desk if you need assistance.

Adaptive Workstations

The OUGL Adaptive Technology Alcove has two PCs running adaptive technologies including Jaws for Windows, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, ZoomText Xtra, and Microsoft Magnifier. The Media Center, also located in OUGL, has telecaption equipment as well as wheelchair accessible and lighting-enhanced media carrels.

Media Center

The Libraries Media Center (643-6051 voice), located on the Mezazanine level, has telecaption equipment as well as wheelchair-accessible and lighting-enhanced media carrels.

Proxy Borrowing

  • You may authorize another person to check out materials in your name.

  • Students proxy request are coordinated by the Disability Resources for Students Office (DRS) .

  • Faculty, Academic Staff, Professional Staff, and Visiting Scholars may designate up to two proxies to borrow Library materials on their behalf at no charge. The principal borrower assumes responsibility for all material borrowed on the proxy card. Proxy cards are issued by the Library Cashier located in Suzzallo Library.
