The UW Libraries recently purchased RefWorks, an online personal citation database and bibliography creator that allows you to import, store, and share your research citations and automatically formats your bibliographies into whatever style you need (APA, MLA, Chicago, and many more).

  1. Conduct your search.

  2. Select the records you want to export by clicking the checkbox to the left of each citation.

  3. Click the Exporting/Citing link in the blue bar at the top of the screen.

  4. Under the Export to RefWorks, EndNote software menu, select the option for the X records in your marked set.

  5. Under Download Record(s) into:, select the option for RefWork's Direct Export Tool.

  6. Choose whether or not you want to clear your list of marked records after exporting by checking or unchecking the box next to Clear the marked set after the print?.

  7. Click the Export button.

  8. In RefWorks, your records will appear in the Last Imported Folder.
