Library Privileges

All visitors to the UW Libraries may:

UW Educational Outreach w/o Husky Card Obtain a library card by bringing, faxing or mailing a copy of your payment receipt to the Library Cashier. You may need to get a temporary UW NetID Full Contact Library Cashier
UW Access Students Obtain a library card at the Library Cashier by bringing, faxing or mailing a copy of your current Access student card. You will also need a temporary UW NetID to access your library account information on the web Full Contact Library Cashier.
UW Proxy Borrowers Obtain a library card by bringing, faxing or mailing a completed proxy borrower application to the Library Cashier. More information Full Contact Library Cashier.
Cascadia Students, Faculty and Staff None, your Cascadia ID Card is your library card. Use UW NetID for library account access. Cascadia Contact the Open Learning Center
Faculty, Students and Staff from Orbis Cascade member institutions Obtain a card at the Library Cashier by logging into your home institution's online account. You will need a temporary UW NetID from the Library Cashier. Basic Contact Library Cashier

Current members UW Alumni Association Obtain a library card by bringing, faxing or mailing a a copy of your current Alumni Association card to the Library Cashier. You may need to get a temporary UW NetID. Basic Contact Library Cashier.
Washington K-12 Teachers/Certified School Personnel Obtain a library card by bringing, faxing or mailing a letter to the Library Cashier on official school letterhead requesting borrowing privileges Basic Contact Library Cashier
Washington State Employees Obtain a library card by bringing, faxing or mailing a letter to the Library Cashier on official letterhead requesting borrowing privileges. You will also need a temporary UW NetID to access your library account information on the web. Basic Contact Library Cashier

*Recent UW Retirees with employer-issued UW NetIDs have full access. Older retirees without employer-issued UW NetIDs have basic access.
