Services for UW PCE Instructors
Borrowing Materials from the Libraries
If you have a Husky Card, it serves as your library card.
If you are not issued a Husky card you may take your current Instructor Contract to Library Account Services to obtain a UW borrower card. You can also mail, email or fax in a copy of your Instructor Contract to Library Account Services and you will be mailed a UW Borrower Card. Accessing UW-restricted Online Resources
With your UW NetID and password you can access thousands of online resources, including full-text journal, newspaper and magazine articles, as well as ebooks, image collections, sound recordings and other online media. More information on obtaining a UW NetID.
To access these UW-restricted resources while off-campus, you will need to start at a UW Libraries web page, click on the "Off-Campus Access" login box in the upper right hand corner of the screen, and log in. You can also add the Proxy Bookmarklet to your home computer browser window, It is necessary for you to be "authenticated" as a UW student in order to use the licensed resources from an off-campus location.

Having Materials Delivered
Current UW Students, faculty and staff may request to have books and articles that are owned by the UW Libraries delivered to their home address for a fee, using Interlibrary Loan. To learn about fees and how to place a request, visit Interlibrary Loan FAQs.
Requesting Books for Pickup
Current UW Students, faculty and staff may request to have books and other materials held at any UW Library for pick-up. Using the UW WorldCat catalog, you may request to have books held by UW Libraries, Summit Libraries (see below) and libraries worldwide delivered and held for pickup at any UW Library. Interlibrary Loan and Summit Libraries
Interlibrary Loan supplies materials not owned by the UW Libraries to current UW students, faculty and staff except those in the University of Washington Law School.
UW Students, faculty and staff have access to materials held at the 30 academic libraries (known as Summit Libraries) in Washington and Oregon that are part of the Orbis-Cascade Alliance. These materials may be requested through the Search UW Libraries and Beyond catalog on the Libraries homepage, and held for pickup at any UW or Summit Library.
It is also possible to visit any of the libraries in person and borrow materials on site, using your Husky Card.
