Mission
The mission of the South Sound Librarian Group is to establish relationships and promote collaboration of services, resources, and instruction among the South Sound region’s academic, public, and special libraries.
Vision
Enrich relationships among South Sound Libraries and Librarians by utilizing each other’s expertise, strengths, and commonalities of issues.

- Promote seamless services to and awareness of regional collections.
- Share collection development strategies and gift referrals.
- Sustain continuity of instruction and meet research expectations across multiple institutions.
- Offer collaborative workshops on topics of mutual interest.
- Create visitor web pages with additional links to South Sound region institutions.
- Meetings hosted at each of the participating libraries.
- Tour regional institutions, businesses and organizations of interest.
Governance
The members attending voted on two year terms for President, Vice-President/President ‘elect’, and Recorder. The current positions will end in October 2009. Volunteers accepted for the current positions were:

Recorder: Kathleen Wolf, Pierce County Library
Webmaster (ongoing position): Erica Coe, UW Tacoma Library
Jennifer will also moderate the listserv and update the membership list.
Meetings
It was agreed to meet three times a year in February, May, and October alternating days and times to enable as many different members to attend as possible. We also would like to become more familiar with each other’s libraries and request that different members host the meetings each time.
