Official Sources

The countries of the region all produce official government publications, usually published by a government printing office or a National statistical agency. Often these are not easily obtained outside of the country of origin, and in some cases are not distributed at all outside of the government. Some countries, like Singapore, have a well-established distribution mechanism for these publications, and many governments now have Web sites to advertise their publications, and to make many of them available full-text. See General Resources and Reference Sources by Country for a guide to these sites.

U.S. Government Publications and International Agency Documents

The UW Libraries is a Repository Library of US Government Publications; most of these titles are now fully catalogue, and may be held in the Government Publications Division stacks, or in the Suzzallo Library general stacks. Some earlier US documents, and legal treaties may require special indexes; please inquire at the Government Publications Reference Desk for assistance with US documents, or for inter-governmental organization materials, incuding indexes to U.N. and other international agency resources.

U.S. administration foreign policy iniatives and action can be traced through Congressional Universe databases.
