Mount St. Helens Collection

The Mount St. Helens Collection was created to provide information for present and future researchers about the mountain and the impact of the May 1980 eruption. The collection draws together primary and secondary materials of all types and aims to be as comprehensive as possible. The chronological emphasis is on the period of March 1980 to date.

The collection includes books, newspaper clippings, journal articles, technical reports, ephemera, maps, seismograph records, and government publications. In addition, we have a few non-book items available, such as T-shirts and ash. A detailed inventory covering the bulk of the collection is available in Special Collections. Cataloged portions of the collection can be located through the UW Libraries Catalog. Photograph collections are also available.
