This year marked the Twentieth Anniversary of Totem Club, founded in 1932. The purposes of Totem Club are: To secure, strengthen and perpetuate a greater Washington spirit of loyalty and service; to promote an undergraduate cooperation and unity; to develop cultured leaders, bound together by ties of friendship, and dedicated to the furtherance of the interests of the University of Washington; to further for Washington attainment of the ultimate American ideal; and to prevent the evils which are apt to arise in a student honor society.

Totem Club functions a Senior women's activity honorary. One hundred and twenty credits and a 2.0 grade average are required for membership. Coeds are tapped during the spring of theirJunior year by the presentation of a miniature totem pole during class. Pledging also occurs during fall quarter. Each year Totem Club sponsors Song and Stunt Night whose proceeds go toward a two hundred dollar scholarship awarded annually to a deserving woman student.
