The varsity volleyball squad under the guidance of Coach Norm Kunde, completed their season with a record of 13 wins in 14 starts. Unfortunately, their only loss of the season was the one that counted, for they lost the Northwest Intercollegiate Championship to the University of Oregon 15-10, 15-11. Standouts for this year's squad were Uno Vispas at the kill, and Aaron Vederoff and Milt Uehara as set-ups and defensive men. Only two of the letter winners will be graduating, Bob Jones and Jaime Narte. Outstanding distance man Denny Meyer was top performer again this year for the Washington cross-country track squad. Coach Clarence "Hec" Edmunson put his distance team through a grueling training schedule for conditioning. Training site of the Husky runners is a special course through the arboretum. All of the squad members are also on the UW track team. |
