Alice B. Theater was founded in 1984 with the first Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival; disbanded in spring of 1996 and reorganized as Alice B. Arts in September 1996. It ceased operations in 1997(?).

The Hidden History project was a nine month collaboration between director Patricia Van Kirk and playwright Drew Emery. Volunteers interviewed over forty Seattle gays and lesbians older than fifty and other volunteers transcribed the tapes. Five of the interviews were used for the hour-long play "Hidden History: True Stories from Seattle's Gay and Lesbian Elders," presented in Seattle, June 10-21, 1992.
