Sound Recordings
There are 239 original audio tape recordings
in the Henry M. Jackson Papers, all of which have
been migrated to digital media for preservation purposes and to make
them more readily accessible to researchers. All of the recordings
are fully described and listed in the Sound
Recordings section of the finding aid to the Henry M.
Jackson Papers, and CD use copies are available for consultation in
the Reading Room in Special Collections.
In addition, 31 audio clips, listed
below, have been created from a selected number of originals, to enable
researchers to more readily preview and assess the types of recorded
sound documentation that can be found in the Jackson papers.
The following audio clips were selected
for their historical significance. They include speeches, interviews,
radio press releases, question-and-answer sessions, political events,
committee hearings, and political endorsements, as well as Senatorial
and Presidential campaign material.
