Reproduction Information

How do I place a scan or digital print reproduction request?

If you are ordering prints or scans:

1. Have the order number, negative number, or identification number of the images or materials to be reproduced. For other materials, please indicate the collection name or call number.
2. Print out a copy of the Reproduction Request form (PDF) and fill it out.  Be sure to sign it!
3. Fax, mail, or email it to us. You can also bring your completed form to Special Collections directly during our open hours.
4. Many patrons use our Digital Collections to identify items of interest.

How do I place an order for map or architectural drawing reproductions?

If you are ordering scans or paper copies:

1. Please provide a description of the item or the call number (when available).
2. Print out a copy of the Oversized Materials Reproduction Form (PDF) and fill it out.  Be sure to sign it!
3. Fax, mail, or email it to us. You can also bring your completed form to Special Collections directly during our open hours.

Fees and Other Information:

You can select to pick your order up on campus or to have it mailed to you. Fees for shipping and handling apply for mailed orders.

Once you have ordered a print or scan, you cannot use it for anything other than classroom use, student projects, personal display, or research without requesting formal permission. In most cases, licensing fees for publication or service charges will apply in addition to reproduction costs. To request permission to use Special Collections images please read the information on Permission for Use and submit the appropriate form.

Note: Because a signature is required before your order can be processed, we are unable to take reproduction requests for photographic prints and scans over the phone. For further information about ordering or using images, please contact us at PhotoQuestions or (206) 543-1929. Otherwise, you are welcome to come here and research our materials.

Special Collections reserves the right to deny a reproduction request if doing so would damage the original.
