Use the following tools to identify articles in journals. Some
of these databases include the full text of articles, others provide only
citations. If you do not find the full text of the article you are seeking,
use the UW Libraries Catalog
to determine if the particular journal and volume you need are available in
the libraries' collection.

Arts & Humanities Citation Index -
UW
Restricted
Web of Science includes Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI),
1980-present. Covers the journal literature of the arts and humanities,
with cited references but not abstracts. Indexes 1,100 of the world's leading
arts and humanities journals, plus individually selected, relevant items
from over 6,800 major science and social science journals.

- Linguistics
& Language Behavior Abstracts - UW restricted
The database covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics,
phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Complete coverage is also given
to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative,
theoretical and geographical linguistics.

The SSSL Bibliography is an annotated checklist of scholarship on over 1,000 writers (novelists, playwrights, poets, essayists, diarists) associated with the American South. Published by the Mississippi Quarterly.

Over 1,100 periodicals that first began publishing between 1740 and 1900,
including special interest and general magazines, literary and professional
journals, children's and women's magazines, and many other historically-significant
periodicals.

Cites articles from English-language periodicals from some of the best-known scholarly journals and
numerous lesser-known but important specialized magazines from 1907-1984. Coverage includes a wide range of
interdisciplinary fields covered in a broad array of humanities and social sciences.

Newspapers:
The UW Libraries has a basic collection of major U.S. newspapers on microfilm
for the 19th and 20th centuries. We also have a strong collection of Northwest
