Hints for searching the Catalog

If you know the general subject on which you need material, use the keyword window and type in a word or two describing that topic.
For example, you might write "french cinema" to see a few books on the topic.
As you read the description of the books thus called up, you will notice that we use the subject "Motion-pictures -- France" for that topic.
Using these exact words in the subject heading window will produce a more accurate search.

If you want material in French, you may type a french word or two in the keyword window.
For example "poesie and Ronsard" will give you a list of books in French dealing with Ronsard's poetry.
If you know the exact title, or exact author of a book, simply use the title or author window to retrieve what you need: for instance, type RIVAGE DES SYRTES or CAMUS, ALBERT.
