Digital copies of 113 antique maps of Africa and accompanying text dating from the mid 16th Century to the early 20th Century. Maps originally collected by the Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies (or the Africana Library) at Northwestern University

A grant from the Federal government through its Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) has enabled the Illinois State Archives to digitize its 3,457 federal township plats of Illinois and present the images on this Web site. These hand drawn plats show Illinois' landscape as it was before American settlement as well as legal surveying measurements. Occasionally the plats indicate man-made features, both Indian and European. Japanese historical maps
The Japanese Historical Map Collection contains about 2,300 early maps of Japan and the World. The collection was acquired by the University of California from the Mitsui family in 1949, and is housed on the Berkeley campus in the East Asian Library. Represented in this online collection are about 100 maps and books from this Collection. The maps were selected by Yuki Ishimatsu, Head of Japanese Collections at the East Asian Library, and scanned and put online by David Rumsey and Cartography Associates. The project was initiated by Peter Zhou, Director of the East Asian Library. Funding and project management is provided by Cartography Associates and the East Asian Library

The viewer is online image browser that aids ordering of satellite data from the Landsat 7 ETM+, Landsat 4/5 TM, Landsat 1-5 MSS, MRLC, Landsat orthorectified data sets from the EROS Data Center (EDC), as well as Aster TIR and Aster VNIR browse images from the DAAC inventory. The Programme's objectives are "assessing and mapping the groundwater resources on all continents (except Antarctica), their hydrogeological structure, groundwater potential, water quality, groundwater recharge and vulnerability. WHYMAP is a modern geo-information system containing a multitude of groundwater related data and information.
