Baltic Studies Collections - The UW is home to one of North America's leading university library collections supporting humanities and social science research about all three countries of the Baltic Region. The Library's greatest strength is in Latvian studies, followed by Lithuanian and then Estonian.... East Central European Collections - The UW Libraries’ collections pertaining to the countries of East Central Europe—Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia—comprise about 60,000 volumes and are both broad in subject scope and chronologically deep.... Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian Collections - Russia is the primary focus of the UW Libraries’ Slavic and East European collections.... The representative Ukrainian and Belarusian collections include scholarly editions of the complete works of most major literary authors.... Southeast European Collections - UW’s outstanding Balkan collections were established over 40 years ago and have steadily continued to grow and diversify. Currently, the collection for all of Southeastern Europe numbers some 64,000 volumes....
