African American Newspapers : The 19th Century - UW Seattle Campus Only
Full-text of 7 African American newspapers from the 19th century including Freedom's Journal and the National Era.

Ethnic NewsWatch - UW Restricted
Contains a large collection (over 170 titles) of ethnic, minority and native publications currently published in the United States. Selected international publications have recently been added as well. Searched by keyword, title, byline, ethnic group and other fields for full text articles which can then be printed out or downloaded. The database goes back to 1991, contains over 300,00 articles and is updated monthly. The web site can be searched in either English or Spanish. Articles originally published in Spanish are not translated. All other material is in English.

Historical Index to the New York Times - UW Restricted
Index to articles published in the New York Times between 1863-1922. Later years will be added in the future.

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe - UW Restricted
Contains hundreds of national and international news sources, including some files in Spanish, French, German and Italian. Most files are searchable in their entirety, some going back to the early 1980's and most updated daily.

National Newspapers - UW Restricted
Indexing and partial full text of 9 U.S. newspapers, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Coverage varies by newspaper.

Newsbank Infoweb - UW Restricted
  • Readex Access UN (1966-1999): Provides access several thousand full-text current and retrospective United Nations documents and publications, as well as more than 265,000 citations.
  • Global Newsbank (1996-Current): This fulltext database provides news stories originating from countries around the world. Newspaper articles, radio and television news broadcasts and wire service reports covering political, economic and social news are selected. All texts are in English.
  • Newsbank Newsfile (1991-Current): This comprehensive, full-text news resource consists of more than 500 regional, national and international newspapers and wire services.
  • Newsbank Retrospective (1970-1991): This full-text newspaper information resource covers issues and events from contemporary American history.
