Work through this checklist as preparation for your work in the University Libraries.

Get my UW Husky Card

Set up my UWNetID

Be sure that an email address is listed in your library account

Bookmark the UW Libraries website [http://www.lib.washington.edu/]

Visit a UW Library - start with this list of libraries with hours & maps

Make a personal connection - visit my subject librarian(s) in his/her office and bookmark his/her contact information

Connect to the UW Libraries databases from home

Search for books & articles using the resources listed on the Geography Subject Page

Set up Alert Services in the UW Libraries Catalog or article databases

Use e-reserves set up for my courses (search by course or instructor name)

Set up e-reserves for courses I am teaching

Request library instruction for classes I am teaching

Set up my Interlibrary Loan/UWorld Express account

Ask a reference question using Q&A Live

Check out a map from the Map Collection and go on a hike

Check out a video from the Odegaard Media Center and relax!
