Cass Hartnett serves as U.S. Documents Librarian, Women Studies Librarian, and Gay and Lesbian Studies Librarian. She is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Information School, teaching LIS 526 (Government Publications). Her main interests are American women's history and the historical/popular value of federal government information. She is a co-founder of the Northwest Government Information Network (NGIN), 2008-2009 Chair of the American Library Assocation's Government Documents Roundtable (GODORT), and 2004-2005 President of the Association of the Librarians of the University of Washington. Cass holds a BA in English (Women's Studies concentration) from Smith College and an MILS from the University of Michigan.
