As the University of Washington's Biology and Zoology subject librarian on the Seattle Campus, Nancy Blase is library liaison to the Department of Biology.

She purchases books and journals in a variety of areas related to those, including ecology. She also provides reference and research support to students, faculty, and researchers working in any of her subject areas and also visits classes in the Department to teach research skills.

Nancy's undergraduate major was biology, with a minor in chemistry. She received her Master’s in Library Science from the University of Illinois and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society for Information Science and Technology.
