Gay and Lesbian Studies Endowed Library Fund  Bob Eichler
Purpose of the Endowment To create a documentary collection and record of the gay and lesbian community in the United States, and, in particular, in the Pacific Northwest; purchase, collect and preserve materials including but not limited to books, journals, manuscripts, papers, reference works and audio-visual materials; underwrite the costs of guest presentations and speeches, lectures, educational forums, professional groups, exhibits, publications and other related educational activities that support and promote gay and lesbian studies. Bob Eichler believes it is important to make materials available to students for specialized study. Education on all levels is the key to the understanding of gays and lesbians, and the importance of every individual's civil rights. Bob ('64) was inspired by a member of the Board of the Friends of the UW Libraries to create this lasting endowment.
