Stuart H. Gould Endowed Library Fund
Suzzallo Library

The purpose of the Endowment is for support of the Libraries' Jewish Studies Program, including, but not limited to, acquisitions of library material, professional activities, speakers, publications or guides to the collection, exhibits, or other related enhancements.

Stuart Gould was born in Boston in 1944. He received his BA and MA degrees from Arizona State University and was a graduate student in the UW Department of Sociology, working toward a doctorate, at the time of his death in 1973. His sister, Linda J. Gould, and her husband Howard Cottrell, created this fund to honor and perpetuate his memory.

About endowments
An endowment is a permanent fund of support for which the principal of the gift is invested and grows over time. The endowment makes distributions on a quarterly basis to support the purpose specified. The endowed fund can be named to honor a special person or specific area of need for the Libraries.

Endowments are forever
With the creation of an endowment, you have the chance to build a strong foundation for the University Libraries, now and in the future. Endowment gifts are extremely valuable in enhancing the quality of the University Libraries, since they provide a constant resource regardless of state funding.
