About Endowments

An endowment is a permanent fund supporting a purpose of your choosing. Depending on your individual passion or interest, your endowment, which provides funds in perpetuity, can be focused or wide-ranging. The principal of your gift is invested and grows over time, while quarterly distributions provide a steady, reliable source of income to the program you choose. This ensures your gift will provide benefits year after year, generation after generation.

Parents Collections and Programs Endowed Fund

Students at Computer

The purpose of the Endowment is to provide support for the University of Washington Libraries. This endowment will augment the libraries collections of books, periodicals, media materials, and programs designed to enhance the educational experience of the University's approximately 30,000 undergraduate students.

This endowment was set up by the UW Annual Giving Council through funds from the Parents Giving Program. It is the University's intent that distributions from the endowment be used at the discretion of the Dean of the University Libraries, or his or her designee, to benefit the Libraries.
