The J. Eleanor Pearson Endowed Library Fund for Human Rights

The purpose of the Endowment is to support the purchase of books, films and other materials, projects and initiatives that will strengthen the Libraries' collections in human rights.

The J. Eleanor Pearson Endowed Library Fund for Human Rights was established in 2002 to honor the memory of J. Eleanor Pearson by her daughter Glenda Pearson as a fitting tribute to the achievements and values represented by the life of Eleanor Pearson and her interests in justice and equal opportunity for all peoples.

About endowments
An endowment is a permanent fund of support for which the principal of the gift is invested and grows over time. The endowment makes distributions on a quarterly basis to support the purpose specified. The endowed fund can be named to honor a special person or specific area of need for the Libraries.

Endowments are forever
With the creation of an endowment, you have the chance to build a strong foundation for the University Libraries, now and in the future. Endowment gifts are extremely valuable in enhancing the quality of the University Libraries, since they provide a constant resource regardless of state funding.
