Race and Empire at the Fair: The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in Historical Perspectives
To commemorate the centennial of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, the Center for the Study of the Pacific Northwest and University Libraries present a symposium on "Race and Empire at the Fair." How did the AYPE reflect, reproduce, and perhaps challenge prevailing notions of race and empire?

Anne Gould Hauberg Artist Images Lecture with Mary Lee Hu
Metal artist Mary Lee Hu creates intricate and sophisticated wearable art from 18 and 22 karat gold, utilizing traditional techniques such as wrapping, coiling, weaving, knitting and twining. Join us in learning about her process and inspiration, as well as her recent travels around the world. Her work is on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Renwick Gallery, the American Crafts Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago.
