  • Create a one minute video about why you love the UW Libraries
  • Submit your video by Friday, April 27
  • Win up to $1,500!

With expert librarians, great spaces to study and over 9 million books and other materials there are many reasons to love the UW Libraries – what’s yours? Show your love for the Libraries by creating a short video about why the UW Libraries matter to you. Open to all UW students, no prior video creation experience is required.

This contest is possible thanks to a Friends of the Libraries Award.

  • One entry per student (must be a UW student, currently enrolled for spring quarter)
  • One minute or less in length
  • Must be original content, not containing commercial music
  • Must show #ILoveUWLibraries at the beginning or end of video
  • Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27
  • Submit an entry form (upload your video via the form)
  • Fill out a personal release form and submit to Amanda Pirog at piroga@uw.edu
  • Videos may not be shared publicly until Monday, May 7
  • You may caption your video but it is not required. If your video is selected it will be captioned before it is shown.

  • Winners will be selected by a jury of Libraries student employees and staff
  • Judging criteria: relevance (why the Libraries matter), creativity and cohesive storytelling
  • First place prize: $1,500, second place: $1,000, third place: $500

Winning submissions may be shared on the UW Libraries YouTube channel and shown at events.
