SciFinder Scholar is an intelligent interface which helps users to easily search the extensive Chemical Abstracts Databases. Searches can be done by subject phrases, author names and chemical identification such as structure/substructure, reactions, molecular formulae and more. Additional content notes are available at the CAS site.
Access is restricted to current UW students, faculty and staff and is limited to 8 concurrent users. For those new to using SciFinder Scholar, there are a few guidelines we ask you to follow.
There are now 2 ways to connect to SciFinder Scholar - the traditional client and the new Web version. The Web version is available from any web browser, but it does not yet have all the features of the client version. The Web version does support an alert feature that will notify you when new artticles in your subject are published.
