Searching databases effectively

There are hundreds of research databases in the world. Each of them is different!

You can search any database effectively by following these steps:

  • Use the online Help pages for the database.

  • If the database has a thesaurus or subject guide, be sure to use it to select relevant search terms.

  • If you get stuck, ask a librarian for help!
