After completing this unit, you should be able to:

• Identify different types of information sources in political science, such as books, scholarly journals, etc.
  
  

• Know the characteristics of different types of information sources.
  
  

• Be able to distinguish between popular and scholarly publications.
  
  

• Identify search tools such as library catalogs and databases that you can use to find different information sources on specific topics.

Look at the following types of information sources. Many of these sources are available online, but some are available only in print. Be sure to ask a librarian if you have any questions about information sources!
