| Information
production: Information produced by Russian, East
European, & Central Asian Studies (REECAS) research tends to flow clockwise
from the top of this model. In general, material from the first two segments
of the model will require greater knowledge of the discipline to access,
understand, and use. Information-seeking and use: Undergraduate students learning about REECAS and performing literature review for course work will tend to explore counterclockwise from the summary and popular literature and seldom use material from the less formal genres until graduate study. How to use the flow model: Click on each text object to view a page that describes the information type represented. These pages will provide you with descriptions, strengths and considerations, and some examples of finding tools for each type of information source. The lock icon ( Click on
either of the black arrows to read about types of research and the sources
used for it. If you are unfamiliar with the Russian, East European, &
Central Asian Studies information world, this will provide a good starting
point. |
