Hours:

15 hours per week

Academic year schedule includes two to three overnight shifts from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m, Sunday to Friday; other shifts may include working Monday to Sunday evenings

Start Date: 19 September 2017

Duties:

  • Staffs the Entry and Information desks
  • Assists with ID checks and security walkthroughs
  • Performs basic circulation processing tasks
  • Shelves and shifts materials
  • Inventories the collection; searches for missing volumes; and retrieves library materials
  • Does routine statistical records
  • Assists in routine marking and processing of library materials
  • Keeps routine statistical records
  • Receives, unpacks, sorts and delivers mail, gifts and other material
  • May assist in opening and closing procedures of library
  • Other duties as required

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Able to work two to three overnight shifts from 10:00PM to 3:00AM
  • Excellent attendance
  • Customer service experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Able to communicate and explain complex procedures clearly, both in person and over the phone

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working overnight shifts
  • Previous library work experience

Other Details:

  • Able to begin working Tuesday, 19 September 2017
  • Required to work during finals week and on holidays Odegaard is open
  • Odegaard Library student employees work a minimum of 10 hours per week but not more than 19.5 hours per week for all campus jobs
