Chinese Cataloging and Acquisition Student Assistant

$16.54 per hour.


12-15 per week

Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM


  • Assist with unpacking and receiving Chinese new receipts.
  • Assist with copy cataloging Chinese language materials using cataloging tools such as Connexion and Alma.
  • Other duties may be assigned as directed.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Strong ability to understand/read Chinese and proficient in Pinyin
    • Ability to maintain a schedule and pay attention to detail
    • Ability to ask for help and accept supervision and evaluation of your work
    • Ability to problem-solve independently and be solutions-oriented
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of Korean or Japanese

    Other Details:

    Most work will be done remotely, some onsite work at the Tateuchi East Asia Library on the Seattle campus will be required.
