Most Northwesterners have at least a passing familiarity with the works of artist Fay Jones. Her paintings and prints, which examine contemporary life through unexpected juxtapositions, adorn the walls of museums, restaurants and hospitals throughout the region. Her images have also appeared on book covers, in the New Yorker and on wine labels. Jones blends autobiography, social commentary and memories to examine modern life while remembering the past and bracing for the future.
Jones will discuss her creative process and the history of her work in the Pacific Northwest. A question-and-answer session will follow Jones’ lecture, and a reception with the artist and light refreshments will follow.
Free and open to the public. Limited seating; pre-registration recommended.
