The Collaboratory is a space where students can collaborate, study, and explore. Housed in the first floor of Discovery Hall it is designed a place that students can work in teams and individually around projects for their curricular and co-curricular endeavors. The space is designed to be a creative environment that contains equipment that encourages both group and makerspace activities.

Computer Workstations

The UW Libraries has software available for you to use when creating your next digital scholarship project. Computer Workstations are available to faculty/students/staff with UW NetID login. Provide access to:

    • Email & Internet
    • Virtually all databases and online resources licensed by University Libraries
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Additional software and hardware

      Information Technologies Circulating Equipment

      Did you know you can borrow computer, audio, and camera equipment on campus?  The IT equipment checkout policy is designed to ensure that equipment is as broadly available as possible without limiting loan periods too much, provide priority access for students in classes, and to make sure that equipment remains in good working order.

      Open Learning Lab

      The OLL offers one on one student tutoring in media production software, eLearning programs, and online tutorial services for students, staff and faculty. On-site Learning Technologies tutors are available to guide students, faculty, and staff on digital media-related projects and canvas/ePortfolio support during tutoring lab hours - posted each quarter on the room calendar.

      Software for the UW (UWare)

      Create digital scholarship projects any time, any place from your own computer.  Download software at reduced or no cost, thanks to various license agreements with software vendors.

      Student Equipment

      UW Information Technology (UW-IT), Classroom Technology and Events (CTE) , and Health Sciences Academic Services and Facilities (HSAS&F) in conjunction with the Student Technology Fee Committee (STF) and the Services and Activities Fee Committee (S&AF), are pleased to offer technological equipment for free loan to students.
