Engineering Standards

The standards in the Engineering Library's collection are primarily engineering related. For standards related to other subjects, you might try checking with other libraries such as the Health Sciences or Built Environments Libraries.

A standard is a document that establishes a rule or measure (either minimum or optimum) for quality or level of performance. A standard can be produced and/or adopted by national standards organizations, professional associations or societies, international standards organizations, or private companies.

Search the Engineering Library Standards Database or ask at the Reference Desk for assistance in finding a particular standard.

Most standards held at the Engineering library are on the first floor of the Engineering Library.The edition held by the Engineering Library, may not be the most current edition. To check for other editions of a standard, search the IHS Standards Store .

The majority of the standards in the Engineering Library are in print only, not online. Exceptions are:
