Library Card

Get Your UW Libraries Card to check out items

  • The following is required to receive a library card:
    • Proof of your qualifying donation to the Friends of the Libraries through a letter from UW Libraries, a gift receipt from the University of Washington Foundation or an email receipt from an online donation
    • Valid government issued photo ID
  • Accounts expire annually; ID verification required to renew accounts

Loans

30 item limit, generally with a 4 week checkout period; loan periods vary among libraries and material type

Track Due Dates & Renew Materials

Your Library Account

  • Library Account Services will issue you a guest UW NetID to login
  • You should regularly check your online account, as you are responsible for all items checked out to it and fines will accrue on overdue items.
  • Most UW-owned materials can be renewed indefinitely unless/until they are requested by someone else or the account expires.

Change of Address

Report address changes to Library Account Services, 206-543-1174.
